Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church

The parish community began in 1866 when Mass was offered in island homes. Mass was celebrated in the first island church on Put-in-Bay Road starting in 1876. When it became evident that a larger church was needed to handle the needs of summer visitors, the current church was built and was ready for use in 1929. It is located at 632 Catawba Avenue. Mass is scheduled for every Sunday at 10:30 am. During the summer, there is also a Mass every  summer Saturday at 5:30 pm. The church is generally open for visitors at any time during the day and is one of two churches located at Put-in-Bay.

Mass is on summer Saturdays at 5:30 pm and services on Sunday at 10:30 am.
